The Message You Keep Putting Off

There’s probably a message sitting somewhere in your phone right now.

Maybe you’ve been meaning to say thank you. Perhaps you owe someone an apology. Maybe there’s a friend you’ve been thinking about, a family member you’d love to reconnect with, or a conversation you know you need to have.

And yet… you keep putting it off.

Sometimes it’s because we don’t know what to say. Sometimes we’re worried about how the other person will respond. And sometimes, the longer we wait, the harder it seems to take that first step.

What If You Just Started?

You don’t need to write the perfect message.

You simply need to be honest, thoughtful and clear about why you’re reaching out.

A simple “I’ve been thinking about you and wanted to check in” can open a door.

A heartfelt “I’m sorry” can begin to heal something.

A “thank you” can remind someone that they matter.

And sometimes, sending a message is simply a way of saying, “I haven’t forgotten you.”

Don’t Let Overthinking Get in the Way

We can spend days—or even months—thinking about what we should say.

We rewrite the message in our heads. We imagine every possible response. We wait for the “right” time.

But the right time doesn’t always arrive.

Taking one small action can be enough to move you from avoidance to connection.

That’s the idea behind the Send the Message You Keep Delaying Challenge. Over five days, you’ll choose the message you’ve been postponing, clarify what you want to communicate, draft it with care and take the step of sending it.

It could be a thank-you, an apology, a check-in, an honest update, a boundary, a request or simply an attempt to reconnect.

One Small Message Can Make a Difference

You can’t control how someone will respond.

But you can control whether you take the opportunity to communicate with kindness and courage.

So, think about that message.

Who have you been meaning to contact?

Perhaps today is the day you stop thinking about it and simply press send.

Because sometimes a small moment of courage can create a meaningful connection and that’s what your next chapter is all about.

Small moments. Fresh possibilities. Your next chapter.
